Director of Government Programs
Dr. Marko M. G. Slusarczuk [pronounced Slew-saar-chuck]: is the Director of Government Programs at the Optoelectronic Industry Development Association [OIDA]. He received his SB in Electrical Engineering and Sc.D in Materials Science from MIT, and J.D. from Boston College Law School.
Dr. Slusarczuk has extensive experience working with the Government from both perspectives. As an attorney, he specialized in the field of licensing and government contracts. As Director of Business Development at Candescent Technologies, he wrote the proposal that received the largest contract ever awarded by the Technology Reinvestment Program. At KLA-Tencor, he helped secure congressionally appropriated funds. In other capacities, he wrote numerous successful proposals to various federal and state agencies.
As Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) he managed the flat panel display program for which he reviewed hundreds of proposals and met with companies seeking government funds. He also served as a proposal reviewer for NIST ATP, and the Bay Area Regional Technology Alliance. His work with the Institute for Defense Analyses and service as Captain in the US Army Reserves provided him additional perspectives of the government.
